The UK Bus Awards organisers have announced the key dates for the 2018 competition, due to get under way next month.
The events will follow a similar pattern to previous years, with nominations closing in early June. Judging will take place during late July and early August, the short-list announcement will be in mid-October, followed by the Presentation Ceremony in November - with a return to Troxy, the exciting art deco venue just outside London's key financial centre in the City.
The precise dates are as follows:
We will launch the 22nd competition formally during the third week of March. Nominations will open then and close on Friday 8 June. Nominations for the Top National Bus Driver will be open until Friday 29 June, in order to allow us to collect information from employers on public nominations for the contest.
Finalists' Announcement and Luncheon
This will place during the second week in October at a venue in the Midlands which will be announced shortly.
23rd Annual Presentation Ceremony
This will take place on Tuesday 20 November. The event will be held for the second year at Troxy. This is a stunning art deco cinema which has been restored and converted into a spectacular events venue. It is situated on Commercial Road, between the City and Docklands. It is a short walk from Limehouse Station, well-served by c2c trains and the DLR (6 minutes from Bank). Alternatively, it is a 20-minute bus ride from Aldgate.
Troxy is a spacious and exciting building with plenty of capacity and we will once again be able to have a relaxed timetable for the day, offering enhanced networking opportunities.
