
As well as the award for Top National Driver presented by UK Bus Awards in memory of Chris Moyes, a scholarship scheme has been established to foster the talent of our young managers, and has received generous support from many in the bus industry.
The Trustees want to let you know how they are spending your money. Two excellent people from the industry have received awards which allow them to research a topic in more detail than they'd usually have time for and then publish the results for the benefit of the rest of us.
The first one, Colin Lea, is now Marketing Manager with Transdev. He has looked at the important and very topical subject of off vehicle ticketing through electronic and mobile technology. With help New Transit magazine, we hope to publish it soon.
The second award was made to Carole Morgan who at 15 years of age was a personal assistant at the Guide Friday company. Realising our industry was for her, after university she worked as a coach driver, gained a CILT dioploma and was recruited onto the Stagecoach Graduate Scheme.
