UKBA to welcome Minister at Presentation Ceremony

2010's guest of honour, Norman Baker MPThe UK Bus Awards is delighted to announce that Norman Baker MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, has accepted an invitation to be the guest of honour at the UK Bus Awards Presentation Ceremony on Tuesday 16 November.

Mr Baker will deliver the keynote address at the ceremony, and also announce the winner of the first award to be presented on the day - so kicking off the fifteenth annual ceremony.

Tight contests foreseen as UKBA judging gets under way

UKBA chairman John Owen - Judging is now under way for the 2010 UK Bus Awards, and the judges are facing some tough decisions over the next two or three weeks, according to the scheme's organisers.

"We’re once again delighted with the response in this, our fifteenth year," said UKBA Chairman John Owen. "What with the economy and the demands on management time made by the Competition Commission, we were a bit nervous about the number of entries we'd get - but we needn't have worried."

UK Bus Awards to reward "Unsung Heroes"

The UK Bus Awards Management Committee has decided to expand its recognition of outstanding service in the bus industry by making awards to ’Unsung Heroes’. The prizes will be presented to one or more individuals who perform junior or middle management roles in the industry and are known for their hard-work, loyalty and devotion to duty.
