    Widow of entertainer Michael Flanders, the late Claudia Flanders became advisor on disability to the National Bus Company in the 1970s. In 1987 she established TRIPSCOPE in memory of her husband, to help disabled and elderly people solve their mobility problems through the provision of travel information, encouragement and advice.

    The results of categories which recognise excellence amongst staff "at the sharp end", delivering service to customers.

  • Bus Operator Awards

    Over the years, the awards in these categories have come to be regarded as the "grand prix" of the scheme, reflecting all-round excellence in the operation of scheduled bus services. In 2005 and 2006, the award was sub-divided into two categories, but this was revised in 2007 to three, taking account of fleet size and operating territory.

  • London Awards

    Awards run in conjunction with Transport for London for bus garages and frontline staff running bus services in the capital.

  • Technical & Professional Awards

    These categories include awards which recognise specific skills in developing schemes, projects or services. This includes Marketing, Innovation, Integration and special awards for rural services and for winning new customers. Awards for bus infrastructure and the most bus-friendly local authority are also included.
