Tough choices for panels...
...as UK Bus Awards judging gets under way for 20th time
This week sees the first of this year's meetings of the independent judging panels for the UK Bus Awards, as the process of assessing more than 250 nominations gets under way. A total of six different panels will convene over the next few weeks, each comprising a different set of independent experts specially recruited for their knowledge and experience. Altogether over 40 people will be involved in the process.
Tony Depledge, UK Bus Awards Chairman, said; "We are really very pleased indeed to have received such a response in this, our 20th year. Our initial review of the entries shows that once again we really do have an immensely strong field, with operators and authorities working tirelessly to improve services, promote them more effectively and reduce their environmental impact. In most categories, I think the judges really are going to face some very difficult choices indeed."
Key Dates for the Awards in 2015
The key dates for the 2015 awards scheme have been announced. The events will follow a similar pattern to previous years, with nominations closing in early June. Judging will take place during late July and early August, the short-list announcement will be in early October, followed by the Presentation Ceremony in November - but at a fresh and exciting venue on London's South Bank.
