Chris Moyes Memorial Award for Top National Bus Driver

The late Chris Moyes, in whose memory this award is presentedThis award is presented to the bus driver who has best demonstrated excellent performance from the customer perspective in the 12 month period to the end of May 2009.

To win the title of Top National Bus Driver, entrants need to go that extra mile to provide the customer’s ideal: a driver who is friendly, helpful, conscientious, mindful of passengers’ comfort and well-being – in short, a true professional and worthy ambassador for the job.

Nominations for this award are still open and you can nominate your favourite bus driver until 31 July 2009.

UKBA responds to recession, by moving venue and cutting prices

The UK Bus Awards Management Committee has announced that the 2009 Ceremony is to return to the London Hilton Hotel in Park Lane and cut ticket prices for the ceremony, in response to the economic recession. As a result, the ceremony will now take place on Thursday 12th November and not on the Tuesday 10th as previously announced.

Chairman John Owen said: “We have to recognise that everybody is affected by the current economic situation, and we were anxious to ensure that as many people as possible could still join us in celebrating all that’s best in our industry this autumn.”

UKBA welcomes honour for chairman
