Maks Pruszecwicz is celebrating today having been crowned Top National Bus Driver at the prestigious UK Bus Awards 2017.
Maks, who works for Reading Buses, fought off competition from tens of thousands of bus drivers nationwide. The award recognises outstanding achievements in delivering exceptional customer service, always going above and beyond to exceed passengers’ expectations, and driving safely and considerately.
Bus driving supremo Maks Pruszecwicz has a strong history of driving and customer service and by combining these ‘he’s found a job that he loves’. Reading Buses says this shines through every day in his work. With countless customer compliments for being friendly and smiley, he has gained particular praise from passengers for helping a lady in labour, assisting wheelchair users, waiting for someone on crutches and even for respecting a funeral cortege.
Maks took the overall crown closely followed by silver and bronze winners Dale French and Phil Hadley.
Dale French, from Transdev Blazefield, drives the York to Leeds Cityzap service, and was awarded silver for his continuous efforts, to not just please his customers but to go above and beyond and delight them.
Phil Hadley, from Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company was recognised with the bronze award. Phil was commended for the amount of customer compliments he receives, the joke at his local depot is ‘they are no longer counted, but weighed’.
Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said: “Every year our job gets tougher and tougher. We get to hear about some of the most amazing drivers out on the road. They’re truly outstanding in every way. The time and effort they take to make sure their passengers have the very best journey experience is commendable.
“We would like to congratulate Maks, Dale and Phil for their tremendous achievements. Well done from everyone at the UK Bus Awards.”
